the advertising auctionInstead of setting a fixed price for advertising, our clients sell advertising using our innovative "infinite auction" model. To buy advertising on a site, you simply tell us: - What you want to pay
Set your own price, on your own terms.- When you want to pay it
You can buy ads that run right away, or that start a week down the road. It's your choice! That's really all there is to it. These two pieces of information form a bid, and if you've made the highest bid, your ad is displayed. And you can cancel bids, and make new bids, at any time. You're in control! But it gets even better, with: - Free advertising!
All bidding starts at $0, which can mean free advertising for you! If your bid is at $0, and you're the high bidder, you won't pay a cent. And no matter what you've bid, if you're the only bidder, you still won't pay anything until another bidder joins in!
| | bidding on advertisingEvery bid you place is in CPD, which stands for "cost per day". A bid of $1 CPD for a week means you're willing to pay $1, per day, for one week of advertising. The most this bid will end up costing you $7: one dollar each day for seven days. (Similarly, a bid of $1 for 3 hours would only end up costing you at most about 12 cents, since it's only for a small fraction of a day.) You are not charged for clicks or displays - only for the time your ad is shown. This replaces the older CPC ("cost per click") advertising model, which is fraught with fraud and which cost advertisers $800 million in fake clicks last year alone. With Project Wonderful, click fraud is eliminated entirely, and advertising becomes a more profitable and reliable choice for you! Your ad is displayed only when you're the high bidder. Any time when you're not the high bidder, you're not charged a cent. But don't worry: your outbid bids remain active until they expire, and can still become the high bidder in the future, when any higher bids have expired. We've set up a few examples showing more about bidding and a few auctions in action, so you can get a feel for how bidding works in real-world situations. Check it out! |
